Alex’s primary instrument is trumpet, which they have been playing for ten years in symphonic, wind band, pit orchestra, jazz, chamber, and marching ensembles. They are also an advanced mellophone player, and have experience with French horn, orchestral percussion, and mallet percussion. In musicals where conventional brass and percussion instruments are unfeasible due to space or volume constraints, Alex uses MainStage to perform percussion parts on MIDI keyboard.

As well as being a performer, Alex is also a composer and arranger of music for instrumentations including pep band, brass quintet, and wind quintet. Their YouTube channel features sheet music transcriptions so that fans can play their favorite artists’ music themselves.
